Credit Crunch? Not in Fairlie there isnt!

Hi di hi campers :)

So - Friday night was a break from the norm. instead of doing Morgans, I was sent to the Labour Club in Kilbirnie to do a 21st disco karaoke. The DJ who did Morgans instead doesnt like Karaoke, so I got sent instead.

Pretty OK night - nothing fantastic but wasnt crap. Biggest pain in the arse in there is the bar staff. Usually some bar staff can be difficult - stop at a certain time etc but thats expected.

In there they take "annoying" to a completely new level. I cant play it loud or they will come and switch me off. My lights DARE touch the bar area cos the slighest hint of a bright light on the bar will blind the bar staff, and woe betide you if any trace of brightness shines through into the main members bar as it will upset the karma through there as well.

I repeatedly asked the bar staff when we finish. 1am was the answer which I said OK - last orders at quarter too. Repeatedly I clarified this fact.

12:45 - Last orders, and I have done my timings so that I finished at 12:55. Playing Loch Lomond at the end and the woman behind the bar was going mental, trying to catch my eye with the "look at me pointing to my wrist" movement. Yes dear, I was well aware of the time, and yes, I WAS ignoring you.

That couldnt have been good enough though cos she stormed on to the stage, to which I told her that I would be finished before the time she herself had specified. She still wanted me to switch off the music right there, in the middle of Loch Lomond, to which I pointed out that if she dared, she would have a riot on her hands as the 30 or 40 people on the dance floor would be less than pleased.

Eventually I think she saw sense and left me alone.

Ive been doin it long enough dear, I know when to stop. I can tell the time - I learned it as a kid :)

Anyways - all was fine, Scott had come in early and been dropped off, so we packed up and walked out - right into a war zone. Minor scuffle outside turned into a 3 police van incident, in the middle of a very foggy evening.

Saturday.

Was a charity night in Fairlie village hall - always a good night in there. There was a crowd of folk who were doing acts, and the best act was by far and away the glamourous grannies singing "ye Cannae Shove Yer Grannie Off A Bus". It must surely get put on YouTube and when I get sent the link, or find it, I shall post it here.

Amazing night - excellent atmosphere and a tidy packet raised for Down Syndrome kids as well - nearly 5 grand I think.

Rewind in Morgans this week so who knows where I am going to be :) Another adventure I`m sure.
